The Eagle

The eagle stares with bright yellow eyes
From his throne within the skies-
His throne of talons and powers raw,
His throne of piercing beaks and iron claw

Ruffled feathers, speckled brown and white,
His sharp caw instilling fright
I salute thee, Sir Eagle, with all my might-
As you continue to survive and fight

And should you ever fail to fly,
You shall still reach for the sky;
Until that day (may it never come, I pray-)
You shall rule, undisputed, the sky by day

And I watch the eagle, amazed by him,
He, who can destroy on a whim;
And forever I will watch him soar
Into the clear blue sky forevermore
